One Upon

Once upon a time
When I forgot just how sticky the claws can be
Of time when it want’s to catch up on you

Once upon a scream
When all the nails were pierced inside of me
Remembrance of passion once so true

Once upon a time
When I was choking on the ghost of lovers past
Lies I could now see straight through

Once upon a dream
When all the past had come to hold my hand
For it felt sorry and was bored

Once upon a time
So sorry my eyes were to full to really understand
That you came to me

This poem was partially inspired by Deanna Fae, a musician, writer, actrice and cheff from Toronto, who is awesome in many ways. She wears her heart on her sleeve…and inspires others with it.
